CMMI® for Development (CMMI-DEV), Version 1.2 is an upgrade of CMMI-SE/SW/IPPD/SS Version 1.1. The focus of the CMMI Version 1.2 is on improving the quality of CMMI products and the consistency of how they are applied. CMMI can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provides guidance for quality processes, and a point of reference for appraising current processes. The CMMI-DEV (Ver 1.2) constellation covers the best practices for improvement of Development, Maintenance and Service processes and includes IPPD addition. The Implementing CMMI® -DEV, Version 1.2 introduces participants to the new CMMI® Model, its fundamental concepts and implementation tips. The course discussion emphasizes understanding –Staged and Continuous representations and the 22 Process Areas (PAs) of the model of the CMMI® for Development (CMMI-DEV), Version 1.2. Apart from covering fundamentals of the model, the course also covers implementation tips for different type(s) of process contexts.

The Course is meant for SQAs, practitioners and the managers in your organization. It is specifically useful for organizations planning for implementing the new-CMMI® -DEV, Version 1.2. Individuals coordinating process improvement in your Organization (SEPG / EPG) and those who are facilitating internal quality reviews / audits (SQA) and those who wish to be part of Appraisal Team will find it useful. The Course will help the participants to:

· Understand the CMMI® for Development (CMMI-DEV), Version 1.2 framework.

· Understand the Details of Changes to CMMI® in Version 1.2 which includes the Improvements made in the Model, the Appraisal Method and Training of CMMI®
